Our STM Ambassadors are made up of two representatives from each class from Year 1 to Year 6. The children had to put themselves forward for elections and deliver a speech to their classmates. Each member of the class then got to take part in secret ballots, to select our representatives.

Miss McCormack and Miss Barker meet with the STM Ambassadors regularly to hear the pupil voice and for them to share ideas and plan for events.

As part of their role, the STM Ambassadors are leading on our charity work this year:

For the Autumn term, Saint Thomas More has chosen to support Kettering Food Bank, a local charity doing amazing work for those in need in our community.

‘Kettering Foodbank exists to provide people with food in a time of crisis, our aim is to meet the basic food needs for 3 days. The average value of a Family parcel is £103.73. We also help to identify and resolve the underlying issues that cause food poverty and help to prevent dependence on food banks.’

We had Jane from Kettering Food Bank visit us to deliver an assembly to the children where we learned all about their important work and the kind of items we can donate.  This assembly was prepared and hosted by the STM Ambassadors.

We will be collecting donations across the autumn term and then taking them to the food bank to give out to those in need this winter. We can’t wait to see everything we achieve as a school community for Kettering Food Bank.
